Alex Arkfeld

Alex provides comprehensive and trustworthy legal counsel to individuals, nonprofits, and businesses.

A trial and appellate litigator, Alex focuses his practice on democracy, elections, and government accountability. While with GLG, he has helped defend multiple ballot measures, protecting Nebraskans’ constitutional right to vote on important issues of public policy. He was part of the trial team that successfully defended two medical cannabis initiatives against allegations of fraud. And he was part of the appellate team that successfully defended a referendum to repeal a law permitting the use of taxpayer money for private school scholarships. Alex also provides strategic advice to democracy-oriented nonprofits and represents entities in connection with state investigations.

Alex maintains an active civil litigation practice. In 2023, he was part of the trial team that obtained a $5.8 million jury verdict in a complex commercial dispute over breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets. He also represents individuals who have suffered life-altering injuries, and he advocates for individuals seeking post-conviction relief.

Alex has a particular interest in written advocacy and is an adjunct professor of legal writing at University of Nebraska College of Law. In all aspects of his practice and teaching, he draws on his experience as a law clerk to Justice Sheryl Gordon McCloud of the Washington State Supreme Court and Judge Michael W. Mosman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
